If you are one of our clients, you will soon notice a footnote on our invoices saying that you are helping to make a difference in our world. Today, on behalf of the Searchlight London team, I am proud to announce what that difference actually is!

From this January, we are committing to donating 0.5% of our 2022 sales revenue to the National Geographic Society. It’s not a huge amount by any means, but the first of many initiatives Searchlight London will be taking in 2022, to help offset the environmental impact of running an SEO agency with high energy use.

Why the National Geographic Society?

I have been an avid reader and follower of the Society through their flagship National Geographic magazines and documentary films since I was a teenager. It directly inspired me to pursue my work-away-from-work in film and video production.

I have long admired the Society’s bold commitment to both documenting the interconnection of nature, science and culture, and instigating change to protect that world. With regressive politics invading society from all corners, the NGO’s work is now under threat and concerned voices are being silenced. When basic science, facts and human rights are being challenged by our supposed leaders, it is time to act.

It is our honour to support the Society and their global community of changemakers on their continued mission to illuminate and protect the wonder of our world. Learn more about the National Geographic Society and the work they do with donations here.
